Marin County, CA Real Estate Market Conditions Update for August 2011

As of September 14, 2011 28% of available listings in Marvelous Marin County are in escrow.

For the month of August 2011 232 homes sold in Marin County (64 of which were distress sales) for an average final selling price of $845,276.

The average original asking price of these homes was $912,056.

The range of final selling prices was from a low of $125,000 (a condo in Novato) to a high of $5,100,000 (an estate in San Rafael).

Of the 232 homes that sold 20 sold at their original asking prices and 38 sold over their original asking prices.  (Notably, almost ALL–save 1 or 2–of the homes that sold in Western, Coastal and rural Marin County sold for MORE than their original asking prices.)

It took these homes an average of 96 days to sell.
