Things To Do In The San Francisco Bay Area April 2008

Earlier this month I posted about events going on around the Bay Area and it was so popular that I thought I would post in advance for things to do in April.  There really is a lot to see and do in the Bay Area, and these are just a few samples:Every Sunday and Thursday Farmer’s Market at the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael (they also operate Markets in Fairfax and Novato, as well as in the East Bay)

Every Friday you can volunteer with SPAWN to help restore the natural watershed in the San Geronimo Valley.

Every Tuesday from 5:30pm until dusk there is a Farmer’s Market on the Plaza in the town of Sonoma.  Every Friday morning, there is also a Farmer’s Market from 9:00am until 12:00noon, year ‘round (rain or shine) at Depot Park.

April 4, 5 and 6 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds is the Santa Rosa Boat, RV and Sports Show.

April 5, take a Kayak Trip and Save the Bay from the Loch Lomond Marin in San Rafael.

April 5 and 6, also at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds is the Ready 2 Run Dog Agility Trials.

April 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, in the town of Sonoma, is the Sonoma Valley Film Festival.

April 12 there is The Spring Wildflower Walk on Ring Mountain in Corte Madera/Tiburon

April 18, 19 and 20, is the Menlo Park Fine Arts Festival.

April 19 there is an Earth Day Event at Samuel P. Taylor Park in Lagunitas

April 19 is this month’s Marin Moonshiners Hike.

April 19 and 20 is this year’s April in Carneros for those that are Carneros Wine Region enthusiasts.

April 20th is a big day:  It’s Earth Day, there will be a Full Moon, there will be a concert in Golden Gate Park and a lot more.

April 25th is the San Francisco ZooFest Fundraising Gala.

April 25, 26 and 27 is the New Living Expo at 8th and Brannan in San Francisco.

April 26th in Marin there are several good things going on like a Wetland Restoration Project at the Santa Venetia Marsh that is looking for volunteers, a Silent Auction Fundraiser for Stinson Beach Preschool at the Stinson Beach Community Center, and The Great Chefs of Marin a benefit for developmentally disable people at Fireman’s Fund in Novato.

April 26th at the Festival Pavilion in Fort Mason is the San Francisco International Beer Festival.

April 26 and 27 in Sonoma County offers the Petaluma Butter and Eggs Festival, the Sebastopol Apple Blossom Festival and Passport to Dry Creek Valley.

April 27th is Opening Day of the sailing season on San Francisco Bay.   (This can get crazy!)

April 27th is also the date for the Big Sur International Marathon, and Half Moon Bay’s Pacific Coast Dream Machines.
