June 2009 Fun Things To Do Throughout The San Francisco Bay Area, Marin County and The Wine Country

As you will see below there is no shortage of fun things to do around here this June!  (Although compared to Mother’s Day, Fathers are getting short-changed on Father’s Day.)  If you would like to add an event, do so in the comment section at the bottom of this post.

June 6 – Live music by Crunchy Frog at the Lark Theater in Larkspur at 3:30pm

June 6 – Escape to Wine Country at Landmark Vineyards with wine (of course) live music, horse drawn wagon tours… bring your own picnic!

June 6 – 18th Annual Beerfest at Wells Fargo Center for The Arts in Santa Rosa

June 6 – 15th Annual Pride Comedy Night at Wells Fargo Center for The Arts in Santa Rosa

June 6 & 7 – Bird Song Hike at Point Reyes National Seashore from 8:00am until 12:30pm

June 7 – This year’s Mountain Play is Man of La Mancha

June 7 – Grand Opening of heart, the radiant living gallery, at 635 San Anselmo Avenue in San Anselmo (website may not be up at the time of this posting so you may want to contact the gallery at 415.460.0888)

June 7 – Sunday Civic Center Farmer’s Market at the Marin County Civic Center from 8:00am until 1:00pm

June 7 – 22nd Annual Hit The Road Jack 10K Run, starting and finshing at the Sonoma Plaza, followed by the Ox Roast and Art Faire, with live music and more!

June 9 – Downtown Novato Farmer’s Market

June 9 – Sonoma Plaza Farmer’s Market, usually with live music and barbecue

June 10 – Corte Madera Town Center Farmer’s Market from noon until 5:00pm

June 10 – Read To A Dog Day at the South Novato Library, sponsored by the Marin Humane Society

June 11 – Prosperity Preparedness Seminar in Mill Valley

June 11 – Downtown San Rafael Farmer’s Market and Festival from 6:00 – 9:00pm

June 11-14 – Peggy Sue’s All American Classic Car Show in Santa Rosa

June 13 – The 5th Annual Marin County Pinot Noir Tasting at Escalle Vineyard, 771 Magnolia Avenue in Larkspur

June 13 – The di Rosa Preserve Presents Women See Women:  From Funk To Feminism

June 13 – Pahlmeyer Winery presents the 7th Annual Napa Valley Comedy Night at the Napa Valley Opera House, a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay

June 13 & 14 – This year’s Mountain Play is Man of La Mancha

June 13 & 14 – Downtown San Rafael’s Italian Street Painting Festival

June 13 & 14 – Fairfax EcoFest at the Fairfax Pavillion

June 14 – The 99th Annual Dipsea Race from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach, come see the oldest trail race in America, starts at 8:30am

June 14 – Sunday Civic Center Farmer’s Market at the Marin County Civic Center from 8:00am until 1:00pm

June 14 – Bear Flag Celebration on the Sonoma Plaza:  a Ceremony at the Bear Flag Monument and a Bear Flag Re-Enactment at the Grinstead Amphitheater are free. There will also be the annual BBQ, a microbrew tasting, live music by The Whiskey Thieves and the artwork of many local artists and artisans during this annual outdoor art show.

June 27 – Gundlach Bundschu Winery presents Second Annual Indie Rock Concert Featuring DEER TICK, Rolling Stone’s choice for #1 breakout band at the 2009 South by Southwest Festival

June 27 – Escape to Wine Country at Landmark Vineyards with wine (of course) live music, horse drawn wagon tours… bring your own picnic!

June 27 – The Napa Regional Dance Company presents a classic ballet of Alice in Wonderland at 2pm and 7pm

June 28 – The Ross Valley Players present Bridge Tolls at the Barn at the Marin Art and Garden Center in Ross.  This is a special benefit for the Ross Valley Players’ Barn Improvement Fund, which includes a reception with buffet and silent auction.  Two shows at 3:30pm and 7:00pm.
